After Effects question

I am think on upgrading to AE 6 Pro. But I was curious from anyone here who uses AE and some kind of 3d software. I have heard that AE will import 3d scenes directly. Is this true? And if so does hold information like volumetrics and lighting?

I appreciate any insight..... I am but a novice at AE so I dont know its capabilities.

it did this in version 5.5 Pro. From what i know it holds camera movement information and lighting information, i have yet to use it, but im sure that 5.5 Pro had it before. I went to a ceminar where the dude from adobe was showing people a imported Maya scene and he was adding video to the scene in 3d dimensions. pretty cool stuff.

I would search google to get a better answer with 3d scenes in aftereffects. cheers

I have not bought AE 6 yet, may not have to use ae I may just do my particles in LW if I can get them to act right. But I will try it, when I buy it.

I have not looked into combustion much, but for LW users VT is great also. I am really chuggin on my site.....I shoudl have some updates soon....a new splash over the weekend....

LOL....ugly isent it DDD... hehe... after the new logo comes the new site.... thats what i ve been working on, the new site is underway, just want to have a logo completed.

Talking about Video toast... i used a app for lightwave called "Aura2" i think it was , pretty cool, it was like photoshop with a timeline, you could record pen strokes and stuff. u heard of it DDD?

yeah.....did a trial on it also.....matter of fact I think it came bundled with my LW7.5.....have not did much with it tho.....
