Hi

My client's site has a problem, it appears after several minutes the site goes offline, than it backs online again, sometime we have to call the tech support to make it up again.

he said that this caused by DNS eror, the question is, I dont even know what that is.

Is it caused by some of our files? because I only upload swf, html, jpeg, and css in www folder.

any idea?

domain name server

that is handled by the registrar who has authority over the domain name (whoever it was last registered with)
to "point' all requests for a domain name to a specified server IP

they should sort it out, not the host

[edit: it could be the host's fault if it is name based hosting and their redirect scripts on their server are breaking ... /edit]

Well, actually it's not totally registrar's fault, because you are the one who puts nameservers in place, or the person who is in charge of it.

Anyway, if you've just put up the site, most probably the problem is the DNS records for that site have not been populated over the web.

If that's not the case, then it's either the hosting company or maybe your ISP's DNS server (better to say the DNS server of the ISP of the user who can't view the page) problem. Just saying DNS problem doesn't mean anything. What is the problem? Can they describe it?...
