To make realistic clouds is simply putting the color you want to make your clouds and add a filter - render - clouds and youre done, now.. how can i make something similar but i don't want clouds, i want the ocean... not waves but a realistic effect that looks like the ocean
in photoshop 7
thanks, alot..

play with your distorts, shear wave ripple, and maybe liquify. What angle do you want also from underwater, level, birds eye? that stuff matters... I think I have an idea how to go about it but I need alil more prerequisites

do you have a reference picture you are going to use? You may be better off doing a photo manipulation of a real phot of an ocean. Depending on your desired outcome.

Dunno if it's suited for an ocean, but it sure does look stunning.
I made this (http://members.home.nl/a.kreijveldloo/NieLZzRust%20copy.jpg) with a little bit of experimentation.

good find man nice tuts.....I was messing with this over night and was not getting, using clouds and liquify I was close. But this tut is cool...could be used for a ocean with some tweaks.

Yup Yup, I like it a lot, nice effects... It also kinda looks like liquid plasm.
Dunno if any of you guys have seen Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship ot Ring? You probably have. This looks like the water from the pool in the elf village. Where Frodo looks in the pool.
