Did anyone hear Arnie being sworn in. It was really funny.

Co-incidence that Bush leaves the country at the same time.

More of a random post than it is an ordered post :thumb:

I think Arnold will make a great gov.

His wife is a Kennedy. They can be a very influencial people when they are not getting assisnated.

Arnie has always been for the people. Even when not on a political podium. Look at what he has done for kids organizations, cancer research and the special olympics.

Too bad he was not born here. I would laugh my two nuggs off if he ran for the presidency.

yup that's a nice tax cut (for the rich).. It was fair because people with small cars (poor) payed less and people w/ huge luxury cars more (rich people)... The french govmt did the same. Morons.

I desagree with your there MLK.

So because you have a big car you are rich and a small one you are poor?

So basically you are saying the guy that drives a 76 brown buick skylark is rich and the dude that pushes the 2003 Benz clk is poor?

Im lost man.

that is what it has been for years... you guys just got a rate cut a few years ago, with the provision that if the state needed the money, it would return to normal rates...

When I moved to CA 15 years ago, my '87 Hyundai was over $300 to register/yr.

Davis didn't raise your fees, it was already in progress, and he didn't have much choice. The reason Arnie is trying to kill it, is because that one item cost him 10's of thousands of dollars on his 40+ cars which he owns...

These Whiners who go out and spend $30,000 on an SUV that gets 12 mpg, and will never see anything but pavement, can afford the $300/month payments, but complain about the once a year registration (which goes to Police and Fire Depts, and Education) like it will break them.

I do not feel sorry for you auto owners one little bit.

nah rev my rates went up big time this year. They go down every year you register your vehicle last year my ( Ford Expedition :bad: :scream: :m: ) was like 2 something to register. It shot up to d**n near 400 bucks. My motorcycle went up also. And it was all after Gray Davis did what he did.

but it was low due to a reduction of 2/3 a few years back!

Gray Davis did nothing that wasn't required by law. If Arnie had been Gov., he would have been obligated to do the same.

Think of it this way, for the last 4 or 5 years, CA has been getting a deal. Now, the deal is up, pay the normal fee, so we can keep the services we so desparately need.

why was there a vote for it if it was something that was supposed to happen? I am not a big political dude but it seemed he was in control of the situation. But what you say is he could have done nothing. Personally I think the money is being spent elsewhere any way. When I return to my old neighborhood. The schools are still falling apart so are the streets, not enough police.....pretty much all the same problems that have been there since i was a kid. Maybe they just fix the areas where the rich folks and the yuppies live.

I think our government will never be redeamed from this stage of treason. Corruption is at hand and has always been. Might as well turn over our lives to the Federal Reserve holders and the banks. In my opinion Ronald Reagan was the best president we have ever had and ever will have. Euro is around the corner, the All Seeing Eye is waiting.

Media is the key of deceit.

Pleah!

Services you need?!

Who needs police and fire fighters?!

Open strip clubs, bars, hash houses, brothels.

Get rid of funeral homes and trade them in for one BIG furnace.

No more trashmen. Throw it in the street for the people who want to pick through it.

forget hospitals and medical coverage for the elderly. All that money should be split up evenly for all of those between the ages of 21-40 for thier own private drinking accounts.

wooooooooooooo!

FESTER FOR GOV!!!!!

I am not, BTW, bagging on Arnie.

I give him my full support, and hope he is the answer to the problems in this State...

I just don't like the "photo op" of him repealing a law that he doesn't have the power to do in the first place.

"Arnie has always been for the people"

Yeah, if by 'the people', you mean Jacob Rothschild, Pete Wilson, and Warren Buffet. Keep in mind, Adolph Hitler also claimed that he was for 'das folk' (the people). (Not saying that arnold is adolph, but i just had to make the point.)

Before election day, I, like many other Californian's thought that Arnold was the best canidate for the recall election, because he seemed to be unlike all the other scum-sucking politicians that typically dominate american politics. Ever heard of the phrase, "too good to be true?" The fact is, Arnold is a businessman. His becoming the Governor of California was very similiar to a business aquisition, with him being the CEO of a very large and potentially profitable business. Right now is a very good time to be one of Arnold Business Constituates.

"The reason Arnie is trying to kill it, is because that one item cost him 10's of thousands of dollars on his 40+ cars which he owns..."

So true. I read he has 6 Humvess, and even an H-2 that his wife is quite fond of...

It was brought up for a vote because it was a rallying cry against Demo's, bought by the Rep party, as a precursor to the Recall which was already filed.

Yes, the money is being spent in the wrong places. However, taking more money away from those services is not the answer, I can almost guarantee that.

By repealing those fees, Arnie has just cut the budgets of Police, Fire, and Schools, without any "plan" to replace/increase it... he says we need to spend more money on education, yet he just cut their budget by at least 25%?

sounds like a political move, not a move based on logic.

Whats the deal with this??

EDIT: direct quote

"Under state law, the governor can reject the state board's parole decisions. California is one of only three states that grants governors that power."

The headline reads, "Schwarzenegger Paroles Convicted Murderer", but in actuality it should say something like, 'Arnold approves Parole Boards decision.'

I guess its not really as big a deal as i thought, since no one seems to have heard about it...
