SOTW Nov. 2nd - Nov. 9

If you wish to be considered for the SOTW for November 2 - November 7, 2003, please read the summary of rules:

1) Reply by the end of Friday, November 7 to be considered for this week's award.

2) Include the URL and your email address.

Only the webmaster/creator of the site can submit.

Only one submission per person per week.

Submissions are capped at 10 each week, so don't wait or hesitate until the last minute.

Include a brief synopsis of your site inluding its purpose, or maybe some features you wouldn't want anyone to miss.

3) Your site does not have to be full Flash to be eligible. Whilst you still must employ Flash to some extent, we are also looking for the overall design and usability of your site, not just your Flash skills.

4) While it is understood that sites are perpetually under construction, please submit only complete sites. Do not submit a site that is less than 80% finished.

5) Submissions must be actual websites with sections and content. Examples of ineligible include (but not limited to) flash games, movies, etc.

6) There will be a private poll among the moderators and a winner will be announced.

7) No critiques or feedback is allowed in the submission thread. If you wish a concentrated critique of your site, you may start a thread in Site Check. However, mod critiques will be posted when a winner has been selected.

For more information or questions, please refer to the Official SOTW Rules. Once you have read and understand the rules above, you may submit your site to this thread. Sites not adhering to the rules above will be disqualified and deleted. Submitting your site is an agreement and acceptance of the rules.

Nice site, good design, but the font is a bit blurred, and I don't like the button rollovers, I found them confusing.

I'm really impressed with this site, the effects are smooth and the design is excellent. The colors used is very intense and appealing, makes you feel as if you're in one of those department stores.

Wow, great colors in this site! I really like the looks of this site, and the transitions are cute :) And even better: it's almost smooth on my computer.

Interesting choices of colors used on this site. At first I wasn't feeling the purple background, but after I saw the main layout I can see why purple was used. Overall the site is simple and the content was easy to access which is a plus, but maybe some music or sound would be nice. The muted colors creates a depressing mood so maybe some music would liven things up.

Interesting presentation of the pictures, it definitely doesn't look like all the current photographers portfolios (even though there's that resizing picture thing that doesn't look so good because Flash distorts the pics a bit). But the design is too simple, and not very well-organized (no frame for the pictures, thumbnails...).

Another impressive site, I like the backgrounds used, very textural. The music works well with the photographs. There are 2 things I noticed that bothered me. First, I think the 2nd enter screen is unnecessary. Second, I think a better transition effect between the photographs would be nice. It's fine the way it is, but I think it could be a step above that. Overall everything is well executed.

I'm not fond of this kind of site, but it's still very clean and professionnal.

Nice, but not as nice as the other sites entered this week. I don't like the "hide and go seek" navigation, any type of navigation that requires more than 2 seconds to find isn't very appealing.

Flash?

Nice effort, but I wasn't impressed by this site. The only thing on this site that is flash is the header and the nav.

Nice design, but does it have to be so small? And some change in the transitions would be a plus too :)

Another nice try, but I wasn't feeling the colors used and the transitions got boring real fast.

Once again, nice design, but the greyish colors are a bit sad...

Clean layout, nice color scheme and I also see the trendy floral elements used on this site as well. I like the visual effects and the sound effects. The only thing I didn't like was the font used. I guess the designer decided to try something else besides arial or verdana for a change.

Same old buttons rollovers and images effects, this looks like Flashlevel work all right :) The design is extra clean, as always, but I'm on a very fast connection and the site took AGES to load, only to see that there were more things to download :-\ Worse, the only thing that changes is a bit of text.

Another nice site produced here. The visual effects are smooth and very appealing. The layout and design is clean. The only thing I thought was bad was the initail loading sequence. I thought it was a bit too slow, but other than that, everything is nice.
