We have that here in the office... It's extremely convenient..
We link up on each other's monitors so we can see what each other is doing at the time when we want each other to look at something cool. Like me showing a website in developement.

oh maaaaan vnc is so awesome! i first used it as an alternative to buying a monitor for my home server, but i have used it for evil in the past and **** its cool to freak someone out ... especially the "non-technically inclined" who wont notice the system tray icon!

How do you use Vnc? And also how do you know the server of the person's computer you want to look at? Thanks!

its not very good when using Maya.. not sure if it's just the way it handles OpenGL though...

you have to have the ip address i only know how to use it on a LAN. Over the Internet I have no clue probably need to know the DNS server's ip and gateway and stuff.

lol. The first year I was in college one of my teachers couldn't figure out how to work it so she had me figure it for her. I'll tell you there's nothing funnier than hijacking computers of unsuspecting people in the labs.

But how did you find out the people's IPP adress?

I have VNC installed on an old computer that has nothing. Random people usually use it and it's basically there to trash.

Wow, this program is really sweet. Useful too. Here's how i'm using it:
I have my computer and my laptop. My monitor has two inputs, one for the computer, the other for the laptop. I run the VNC server on the laptop and connect to it via my computer, then switch displays on my monitor to view the laptop. Now I can control both computers from a single set of keyboard/mouse. This rules; can't wait to install this in Linux.

Yeah, this could be very useful
Say you want to use a windows app while in linux... you could just VNC over to a windows box quickly :)
