Murphy's Law, huh?

other than that, do you have the ability to network with someone else's HD?

You can use winzip to zip all of your files into floppy size files...

well, its a matter of asking yourself what you want to keep, and what you dont want to keep. i was forced to format my old computer's HD, and it wasnt too hard to get all the files back. as for spending $, u prolly wont need money. most likely, the manufacturer sent along with the computer, the software that was pre-installed, such as OS, MS Word and suites, etc... therefore you wouldnt have to buy any new stuff.

that should have all came with the computer. if it didnt, its not too hard to find a pirated copy of windows on the internet.

also, what operating system are you using right now? could u give the specs of ur computer too? that might help.
