By the way alethos, your image was on geocities and would harm you on getting votes so I hosted it on my server for voting purposes! =)

My vote goes to electrongeek:
You get my vote totally for metalic 3d complexity. How on earth did you get the reflection effect so precise?

LOL!
I wasn't voting for you cuz of the hosting, dood. I really do like yours the best. Great work. To Kei and ElectronGeek too! This was my first ever abstract work. I found it a LOT harder to do (my mind it too literal to come up with abstract art) than I had originally thought.

by tweaked, I mean it as a compliment...
it just looks like something that has been squirming along the floors of some space derelict, waiting for an innocent victim to come on board, just looking for salvage...

Very nice work everyone, I used Cinema 4D and Photoshop for my entry and it took me about 2 hours to make. The longest part was to render it which took 30 min. :-\

All 4 works are very good, bravo. But Al's "thing" looks really good. I love the perspective and the blur of it. Kinda reminds me of the field that the Prince has to cross to get to the castle in "The sleeping beauty" :beam: Hey, it's Christmas, folks. Time for Disney cartoons!

Thanks for the compliments, guys!
This is turning out to be a pretty close battle. This is how all battles should be...nail-biters!
I like Dan's most because it is dynamic, yet reserved, and well balanced overall. Simply elegant, but with an undercurrent of action and complexity. To top it all off, it humbles me to think it was done in one-sixth of the time it took to do mine.
I like kei's cityball thing, but I think the snowboarder throws the whole composition off. Also, although as a wall paper the contrast is good because it doesn't interfere with icons on screen, I find it too washed out for my taste.
Electrongeek's is a wonder of reflections and simple geometry. I like the little details he's added in Photoshop like the little "+" signs and the white squares. I am not fond of the static nature of the piece, however. It is exactly what he calls it, an alien stone, and as such, it has no movement. While some may not find action as exciting as I, my feeling is that his piece would be much better if there was some movement or the anticipation of such.
Great work, all of you. I would be very much interested in more detailed explanations of all three, and another battle along the same lines, but with a subtle theme thrown in. Any takers? ;)

I voted alethos. Any thing made in 3d that is organic looking gets my vote before straight lines and metal. My second choice would have been kei. I have that image as my Desktop BG now. I loved the extruded sphere. Lokked like a ball of TV's or something

That's one of the closest battles I've seen. Seriously all of those entries are absolutely fantastic. Me, I couldn't do a 3D image if I tried. :)
But, my vote has to go to someone... And I've gone for Alethos. There's just something alien about it, like you're inside a virus or something. Kinda like those DNA helixes you see, only this is more... I want to say something like "bacterial", but that doesn't really fit... Words escape me for now.
Hats off to all four of you though. The metal things are great, really sharp and soooo cool.

All of them were exellent. really!
but geek and alethos really outdone themselves here. Was very hard for me to choose one:-\
I voted for alethos cause the colors on his work are more appealing to me and the elements of his work seemed to me a bit more original and organic to me.
Congrats dan, kei, geek and alethos! really good job!:)

Hi,
Thank you electrongeek!
BTW, very nice! Not my cup of tea(I'm not into design trends) but it really shows your skills. Well done.
