I only mentioned Guig0 because he was the one that refered me to a particular post to help me out with a question.
I downloaded the fla that he made so i thought since he did the fla he would be be able to help me, no offense to anyone else.
Here i sone of the problems:
You can see it here
http://www.geocities.com/d_dzign
when you press the button one (MAKE SURE YOU WAIT AT LEAST 20 SECONDS B4 U PRESS A BUTTON) just the way i set up the AS.
you will see the doors close, an external swf is being loaded behind it. But somehow it loads but does not display!
I dont know why, it works fine when i test it in Flash MX.
_root.contentLoaded = true;
stop();
maybe it has sumpin to do with the code above??
:smirk:

Hey i was just wondering, if we are loading these external swf behind this curtain, then how can we show the preloader??
It won't show right, coz its behind the curtain?
Is ther a way of having the preloader infront of the curtain??
Guig0
December 17th, 2002, 10:38 AM
You will have to create a mc with the preloader content and set variables to make it visible when loading and invisible when it is loaded. And another group of varibles to get the bytes loaded.
The path of the variables should be like this:
_level#.pathToVariable = value;
the # stands for the number of the level
Iīve never done that sort of thing, so it will take time to get it right.:-\

December 17th, 2002, 11:33 AM
the fla and the link too.
Why:q:
the link is not working properly, the fla canīt show me much cause there is only the main, not the others.:-\
Dave

here is the link:
http://www.geocities.com/d_dzign/
i just checked it, works fine. Make sure you wait at least 30 seconds before you press a button, just the way i set the actionscript....sorry.
Press button two and three first, then press button one and you will see what happens.
THE HOME BUTTON DNT WORK AT ALL.
As to the zip files, there is one which is the main zip in one post, and below it in another post, is the second zip which contains the external swf's!!
thanks :)

Hey, i just downloaded the zip files.
The very first zip file is called content one, this is the one im having troubles with. This is the first external swf.
On the other zip file i have 4 files. 3 swf and 1 fla.
content 2 and content 3 work, and they were kept the same way you did it, from your previous post, so i thought there was no point adding the fla, coz you probably have it.
Then there is the main. I have modified that a bit, just for experimental reasons!! I have supplied the fla with that one.
Hope this clears things up a bit!!

Why do I have to wait 30 sec? Didnīt you used a preloader?
About the fla: I canīt see anything wrong.

Dave
December 19th, 2002, 11:55 AM
Hey, about that fla, exactly, it looks right, but once i upload the silly thing, somehow it doesnt work! :(
See how once you press the button on the "one" button, the doors close, then you will see the preloader say "complete" then it will dissapear, the external swf wont show at all!
( Im talking bout the one uploaded on the site by the way, www.geocities.com/d_dzign )
Its annoying me now! the other ones work fine, the ones you did!
Why, i dunno!!

I think that the only way I can help you is seeing the content1.fla that you made.
Could it be:q:
=)
Dave
December 20th, 2002, 01:56 AM
Yeah content1 is the first zip file available on this post!!
The thread title is called "Mad Title " there below you will see the zip file that contains content1!!
( this is page 1 by the way )
