Fish that are raised in Salmon Farms are dyed pink, to give them that appetizing look, when laid out in the store. I guess if you can't do it naturally because of time restraints, then dye is the best route to go. Its not like all these chemicals are washed downstream and out to sea, - wait, oh yeah, they are! For every farmed salmon fish, five had to die in the sea to feed it. Do the math, and ask yourself why things are the way they are...

There is a company in Boise ID, called ironically Sea Pac of Idaho (where is the sea in Idaho?), that raises trout, feeds them beta caratine, and sells them to restaurants as "baby salmon."
